The Coburg CC x Footscray Cycling Club Series is wrapped! The fourth and final round at VU in Hoppers Crossing took place in perfect conditions (if a little blustery) with magnificent racing in all four categories. Something like 100 entrants across the series have battled it out for the big prizes that were handed out on the weekend - some of those battles were down to the wire. A Grade was dominated by Joshua Zammit, who was on the podium every round and chalked up two wins (including R4). Marco Duys finished second overall and Scott Sherlock rounds out the series A Grade podium. B Grade had a similarly dominant performance from Matthew Hargreaves who was a podium finisher every time with a pair of wins. He held off a late push from Shayne Kirby (2nd) who narrowly edged Paul Glowacki down to 3rd in the series. Over in C Grade it was an absolute battle amongst the top three in the standings. Consistency ruled the day with Coburg CC’s own Craig Peel taking the series over Joshua Head and Angelo Pagano coming through in 3rd. D Grade was hotly contested for the series where David Danson took the top step, David O’Dwyer 2nd and Barry Cram nabbing 3rd.
